erpol
Hello, I have Retrospect Express 5.0.238 on a 867 MHz G4 with OS X 10.2.6; with Driver Update, version 3.6.106. My backup device should be a HP SureStore DAT8e and it's connected through a Power Domain 2930CU card. "Should", because I can't use it with Retrospect. I've read that this drive is qualified, and the SCSI card is supported, too. But I only see the drive in the "Device status" window and not in the "Storage devices" window. The only "warning" I saw, browsing Dantz's site, is "you should not connect a narrow device to a wide adapter" and vice-versa. That's my case: wide to narrow cable. Is this "should" a "must not", in my case? Should I go back to OS 9? Thanx, Ermanno Polli
Mayoff
Retrospect Express does not support tape drives. You would need to upgrade to the Desktop edition or higher. http://www.dantz.com/en/upgrades/index.dtml
erpol
Thank you for the answer. I had a private mail, too. I got the Retro. expr. from my institution. I found the CD disk (and license) in our main store and I took it. No manuals. I installed it and returned the CD. That's all. I'll try to get the desktop version, but I foresee a long fight with our bureaucracy. :-( Thanks, all.
