lelau92
We have Retrospect Server 5.0.238 running on an Xserver w/OS X 10.2.6. We backup the server hard drives and 20 Mac OS X clients over the network and 20 Windows XP Pro clients over the network. We are backing up user folders only in order to have a backup of user's email databases. The Macs all use Entourage and backup without error. The WinXP users use Outlook XP and when Retrospect gets to their "outlook.pst" file it doesn't backup and gives an error 4096 (unknown) in the Log file. I can't find this error in manual or knowledge base. Does anyone know what this means and why we can't backup the Outlook.pst files? Entourage backs up even though Entourage is open just like Outlook. Any assistance would be appreciated.

lelau92
Amy, What if Outlook was not open? Would the file not be in use then and the backup could take place or do you mean never? If so, any ways around this with Retrospect? TIA, Randall
AmyJ
If the file is not open/in use you should should not see any errors.
