msw1084 Posted June 19, 2003 Report Share Posted June 19, 2003 I am consistently having trouble backing up my HD (Mac 300MHz beige G3 with OS 8.6) with Retrospect Express 4.3. The writing step seems to proceed smoothly, but I often get an error 204 (device busy) during verification. Data on the disks that give this error cannot be restored. Today it happened on the third of the three disks that I used. The problem has occurred with both TDK and Maxell disks (both have a silver surface). There is nothing wrong with my CD burner (Yamaha CRW8424SX), since I get consistently good disks when I transfer files with Toast. Does anyone know of a reliable CD-R brand for this job?
