Now, I want to automate the part where it backup the new files which have being change daily in the internal drive to the external hd. I dont need to back up all the files of the internal hd to the external hd. i just want to back up a directory or do i need to set up to automatically duplicate everytime and copy only the files which have being change. Thanks, Victor
AmyJ
If you are only concerned about copying a particular directory - and not copying all changed files and folders on the entire computer - you should use subvolumes. The following tutorial describes _backing up_ not duplicating - however, it will show you how to make subvolumes. Make a subvolume out of the source folder and the destination folder. Create a 'Duplicate' script using the subvolumes and the schedule you'd like. For example. If the folder is called Victor's Documents, you'll make a subvolume of Victor's Documents on the internal drive, and a subvolume of Victor's Documents on the external drive. These will be the source and destination in the script (Automate > Scripts > New > Duplicate). Then you can set the schedule.
