McStan
hello, I´ve installed a new system folder with mac os 9.22 on a powermac g3 blue/white. then I installed the 4.3 retrospect client on the machine. whrn I´shutting down the mac, the client window appears and tells me, that the retrospect screensaver will appear in a few seconds. the problem is, that my mac freezes! the screensaver doesn´t work and I can´t click on the buttons to shutdown or restart. I´m using retrospect for several years and I´ve never seen such problem on any machine. (I´ve configured about 30 clients on my network and all of them work fine) I´m really getting tired of this problem. Then I tried to install 9.0 in a new system folder - the client doesn´t freeze! After that I´ve updated to 9.0.4 and then the client freezes again - what can I do about this? Is there an internal problem with my powermac gr b/w? I need to have the client work fine on this mac with system 9.2.2 installed, other macs have also 9.22 inside with no problems. please help me!! AmyJ
It sounds like there may be a conflict with another control panel or extension. Try booting with OS 9.2.x base extensions, and include the Retrospect Client. Reboot and then try to shut down - do you see the same issue?
