pjd813
I don't see the solution for this in the docs, but I just might not be looking in the right place. I very often need to go in and restore ten or twenty song files out of a source backup set that has hundreds, maybe thousands of song files. I type the file names (or meaningful fragments) one at a time into the searching and retrievel list, ending up with a list of twenty or so search terms. I then go thru the results in the files chosen screen and I weed thru the variations and versions of the songs to be left with only the versions that I need. So far, so good ....... until I need to do the next search. Is there a way to clear out the retreival list en masse? all at once?? I only seem to be able to delete search terms one at a time, and the select/forget/ sequence leaves me with nothing selected in the list after an entry is deleted/forgotten. I can't just hit the delete key and return repeatedly to whip through the list, I have to hit delete (or select forget), answer the dialog to say that is what I really want to do, and THEN SELECT another item to delete. Not a big deal on a onesie twosie basis, but when your trying to clear a list of twenty or so when you are in a rush, it can be very frustrating. If there is a way to kill the entire list with one ore two commands that would be great. Going the other way, it is very frustrating to have to go thru the entire sequence of steps for EVERY entry to the retreival list. Is there a way to tell the program that evrything I want is a file or folder name, and here is the list of names ???
AmyJ
Hmmm... you could create your search criteria under Special > Selectors. Save and name it. Then, when you go to do your restore, and need to use the search criteria, go to Include > Selector is selected by <name of selector>. This would serve a dual purpose - you could save selectors that may meet criteria you'll use again in the future, and you can delete the custom selectors once they've served your purpose. This will save time over manually deleting each criteria. You can make a feature request to allow the deletion of all criteria in a selector in either the product suggestions forum or through the following link: http://www.dantz.com/en/support/feedback.dtml
