pjd813
Hi All, I'm using Retrospect 5 on a DP 500 os 9.2.2 machine. I now have TWO external firewire CD burners (see my thread under Drive Compatibility Issues) that are seen by Retrospect. Of course there is always a minor annoyance (it IS minor, really). When the devices appear when Retrospect asks for a new disc and "eject" is highlighted, I automatically hit Return, expecting the disc to eject so I can feed the drive a fresh, blank CD. However the OTHER CD drive (the one I am NOT using) is at the top of the device list and it is highlighted, so when I hit enter the EMPTY drive drawer opens, I then have to arrow down to the correct drive, hit eject, and close the drive that is NOT being used. I back up several Gigabytes at a time, and now that my 52x burner is acceptable to retrospect, I feed the beast quite often when backing up a folder containg many many audio files, or a video file of any respectable size. Is ther a way to force the position occupied by a drive in the devices list of retrospect ?? I would prefer that Retrospect understand which drive is the "active" one during the currect backup/restore operation and highlight IT. But if I can force the order in the list I'll be satisfied. Can I do this???? Thanks, Pete D.
AmyJ
There is no way to change the order. However, in OS 9, Retrospect can 'Ignore' drive ID's. Go to Configure > Devices > Device Status. Select the drive that you are not using and use the command to Ignore.
