nischan
Hello, I have been trying to get Retrospect Pro 6.0 to work with a Lite-On LTR-24102M CD-RW drive with no success. I have tried doing a backup with a blank CD-RW disc, and got an error -103. I upgraded the firmware on the drive to 4DS7, and tried again. No luck. I tried using a CD-R disc (of another brand than the CD-RW disc) and then got an error -100. I have uninstalled all other CD writing programs. I set the "Enable NT SCSI passthrough" option as suggested in the knowledgebase article. Nothing works. I still get an error every time. What else can I try to get this to work? As a side note, the whole reason I upgraded from Desktop 5.6 to Pro 6.0 was because I all of a sudden started getting error -102's after a year of no problems (I was using a different CD-RW drive then). In trying to fix that problem, I ended up putting in a different CD-RW drive (the Lite-On that I'm currently trying to get working) and upgrading the software. With the old setup, I never was able to get it to work with CD-Rs, only CD-RWs. I am getting pretty frustrated. I love the software, but WHY is it so fussy about the hardware?!?! any help would be greatly appreciated! I have a drive that is "qualified" and it doesn't work. I don't know what else to try..... It's possible that the problem is not with the drive itself, but something to do with the computer. Try moving the drive to another computer to see if the problems follow the drive. Make sure you're using the latest Retrospect Driver Update - this drive has a minimum requirement of 3.5.103. http://www.dantz.com/en/support/updates.dtml
