AEngel
In searching on "exclude folder" no one seems to have an answer to my problem. I am supporting about 40 users with a mixture of Macs (OS9) and PCs (Win2k). Retrospect 4.3 is running on a Mac. I have defined 14 scripts so that I backup some systems each day of the week in order to cover everyone every two weeks. Some of the users have big hard disks with a lot of static files that I would like to exclude from the backup set. I have seen the solution of marking Mac folders cool to exclude them, but this does not apply to PCs who are the largest offenders. It would be a large burden to attempt to create volumes for the PCs to identify what to include since this would require frequent change as users create and delete folders. Any other ideas? AmyJ
You can mark volumes/folders as "Private" on the client machine itself. Open the Retrospect client and go to the Access tab to exclude drives or directories from the backup.
