Compatability of NEC 9300-A

Recommended Posts

Hi, was just wondering if you know when support for NEC 9300A may come about - I've been using Retrospect for years & want to continue but had to buy a new dell, it had this CD-RW in it, and it doesn't appear to work (and is not on your supported list, so I know I don;t want to ask why it doesn't work smile.gif

Thanks, I'm hoping to not have to switch to some other vendor (even if I must buy new from you in order to get a product that supports the drive, I'd rather do that than switch - I've had to restore several times from Retrospect and have never had a problem...)

thanks

Dantz goes through a rigorous qualification process with every drive we test. This means that not every drive will be qualified and we can never guarantee that a particular device will be supported. Some drives do not get qualified ever, and some take 6 months to a year to get support. We have no way of telling if this drive will be supported or not at this moment.

We add device support often though, so do check back with our Hardware Compatibility list.

Hi Amy,

I've got an AWESOME idea. ... on that may even warrant me getting a free copy of retrospect!

Since there are so many compatability questions, and many people from what I've seen that WANT to use Retrospect once their device is qualified, why not allow people to sign up to get an e-mail when their device is qualified? Better yet, why not buy e-mail addresses from, say, Dell, so that once a device they sell is qualified, you can send the purchasers of that device an e-mail telling them their backup device has been qualified for use with the most respected backup software on the planet?

That would be AWESOME! smile.gif
