Running OS 9.2.2, Retrospect 4.1ai with a DLT8000. I am unable to use the tape as it says there's no driver installed, so I downloaded ADK for 1.6 & 2.0 and installed 2.0. Now I am told that the newest driver that is supported for my setup is 1.7 but I'm unable to uninstall the updated driver (I think). How do I this or what file do I need to remove?

I've tried to uninstall (removing the retrospect folder), reboot, and reinstall several times but nothing seems to work.

This is extremely urgent as we don't currently have any backups and approaching critical mass...

Any help is appreciated.

thx

This drive is supported with Retrospect 4.1 and ADK 1.6. ADK 2.0 is too new for the version of Retrospect you're running.

Make sure there are no Retrospect Driver Update files in your Retrospect application folder. Make sure the ADK 1.6 file _is_ in your Retrospect application folder.

Check Retrospect to ensure the driver is loading by looking in the Operations Log (Window > Log). You should see something similar to:

Retrospect version 5.0.238

launched at 4/14/2003 2:51 PM

+ Retrospect Driver Update, version 3.1.105

Quit at 4/15/2003 12:24 PM

Where the version is 4.1x and instead of Retrospect Driver Update, you'll see Advanced Library Kit.

If the driver is not loading, try reinstalling the ADK from your original installation floppy. Double check that you are not using the "ADK updater" - this will only update an existing ADK, and does not contain the actual Advanced Driver Kit.

Okay, checked for that and found out that only the 1.6 Update is running but not the actual ADK driver. Looked on the CD (no floppy avail) and can't see anything that I would assume to be the actual driver, or installer for one. Where should I look for that?

thx
