waveman Posted March 31, 2002 Report Share Posted March 31, 2002 I'm having the same problem that some users have reported with other Adaptec cards. I have a VXA-1 tape drive connected to my blue G3 with an Adaptec 2906 SCSI card. I'm using the most recent version of the 2906 driver, and I deleted all the beta drivers. The card has a 25-pin connector and the drive has a "thin" 50 pin connector, so I'm using an adapter at the drive end. I'm backing up a 20GB hard drive with three partitions. I can get through all or most of the first partition, but the process invariably hangs at some point. The tape drive was working fine with the beta version of Retrospect 5 for OS X as recently as three days ago. Is anyone using this SCSI card with a VXA-1 successfully? Thanks.
