da11as
Hi, all: I am running weekly (or so, for reasons that will become evident) backups of a Snap server to a PowerStor L500 14-slot autoloader. The autoloader shows up; the robot swaps tapes, and everything is good... EXCEPT that Retrospect prompts me for a tape to use. I drag the tape icon onto the drive icon, the robot swaps tapes, and Retrospect happily fills the tape up. The question: How do I get Retrospect to just use whatever tapes are in the autoloader? It takes 3 to 4 hours to fill up each tape, and I've got about 4 tapes worth of stuff. I'm sure there's an answer for this (otherwise, why would anyone make autoloaders?), and I'm sure it's easy. If someone would point me in the right direction, or better yet, provide condensed-yet-idiot-proof instructions, I'd be grateful. Thanks! -Dallas
AmyJ
Are you running Immediate backups or Automated backups? If you are running Immediate backups, Retrospect will not change tapes unless you change the setting from Run Interactively to Run Unattended in the Control drop-down menu (only available when an execution is running).
