dawolfman
hi, i am setting up a backup strategy for my office. We have 5 laptops and 1 workstation, all the data at the moment is around 7GB and i have estimated a total capacity of 35gigs. I have bought the Seagate Hornet Travan 20/40 IDE tape drive and will be fitting it to one of the workstations. i want the data on the laptops to be sent via the LAN to the common drive (shared Hard drive on the workstation) once a week. Then set the workstation to backup common drive to the tape drive on a daily 6 tape rotation method. does this sound like the best method to use? is dantz professional with client licences able to do this? any other comments? Are the users going to copy the data? Are you going to use Retrospect and Retrospect Client to duplicate the data? Or would this be a backup to a file backup set?
