Dell PowerVault 110T DLT VS 80 Tape Drive

For starters, it appears that our tape drive is manufactured by Bendhmark for Dell. Keyword "appears".

 

According to your list of supported hardware, you support:

Dell PowerVault 110T DLT4000 and DLT7000

 

as well as

 

Benchmark VS80 and DLT1

 

Retrospect 6.0 multi-server for Windows identifies the drive as a Benchmark DLT DC and the properties say:

BNCHMARK DLT1 Revision 5032

Format: Benchmark DLT 1 (40GB), DC

 

I'm using Sony mediaDLTtape IV (DL4TK88).

 

My drive is not specifically identifed as supported, but there appears to be enough information to assume it might be compatible. Is it?

 

I ask this because the backups work fine, except that there is no hardware compression. Click on software compression does nothing. The software assumes (rightly) that there is hardware compression. Dell says there drive compresses just fine, but they are not familiar with your product.
