sycr
Hello, I'm using Retrospect 6.0 (RDU 3.7.105) with a VXA 1x10 SCSI on two servers 2000 SP3 In the first, the version of the Retrospect's driver for the Exabyte is 1.07 and the loader see the drive, then I can make my backup. In the second, the version of my Retrospect's driver is 1.06 and the loader can't see the drive (they are separate)... and I cannot make it. What's happen...? Thank you for your help. AmyJ
Try a new copy of the driver update file. As a test, if possible, switch loaders to see if the proble follows the drive or stays with the computer. If the problem follows the drive check cables and termination. Check for firmware updates. Contact the vendor. If the problem stays with the computer, check the SCSI card - reseat it, reinstall drivers, check for updates. Try a different SCSI card if possible. Check for computer updates for the motherboard, etc. through the computer vendor. Make sure the drive is isolated - no other devices attached to SCSI chain. Was ASPI installed correctly? Run ASPICHK (in the Retrospect Program Files folder) to make sure ASPI is "green" and all components are at version 4.60. If not, try a reinstall (ASPIINST.exe). If you still have problems, consult the Retrospect User's Guide or Adaptec's website. Enable NT SCSI Passthrough to bypass ASPI: From the Retrospect Directory hit Ctrl-Alt-P-P. Under "Execution," check "Enable NT SCSI Passthrough." Click OK. Quit and relaunch.
