Guest
According to Dantz's Apple Optical Storage Device Compatibility listing, Retrospect 5.0 does not support SuperDrives identified as a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-103 when backing up to CD-RW media. Presumably, this either means that no testing on this drive/media combination has been completed, or testing was completed but the result was a failure to meet Dantz's standards. Can you tell me which is the case? Thanks, Anthony M. Kassir, MD
IrenaS
Testing has been completed, and CD-RW proved UNRELIABLE as a backup medium. These drives are qualified for use with CD-R media only.
Guest
Thank you. Given the slow write speeds, and the inability to use CD-RW with these drives, looks like a FireWire HD, separate internal HD, or MO device may be in my future. ;-)
niels
What about for the 104 drive? The listing says 1-4x CD-RW not supported. Does this mean that faster CD-RW is supported?
IrenaS
High-speed media is recommended for this drive.
