Reichman
I'm considering buying a Quicksilver Dual 1Ghz Mac w/ a Superdrive. I've been getting barely acceptable 100MB/min. backup speeds w/ SCSI CD-R on my 9600/300, what speeds can I expect backing up to DVD-R? Is DVD-R more reliable than DVD-RAM? Thanks, Nathaniel Reichman
AmyJ
Retrospect does not perform optimally with the SuperDrive because this drive does not support continuous writing. You may see speeds of 15/meg minute or less.
Reichman
Dear AmyC: What DVD media and drive do you recommend for the best combination of performance and longevity? I've been happy with the longevity of CDR media, and I get an average performance of 120MB/min. with a Plextor drive. But I need higher capacity and wouldn't mind higher speed. Thanks in advance, Nathaniel Reichman
