morganr
Hi all, I have a server running Retrospect 4.x and I need to add a WinXP machine. According to Dantz I need to use client 5.6 on the Windows machine. I have downloaded and installed the 5.6 client. However, when I try to add it to the client pool I am unable to activate it. The option to activate is greyed out. I have a valid code, I just can't seem to use it. How do I go about activating the client? I am aware this is likely a very basic question, but I'll be darned if I'm having any luck figuring out what I need to so. Thanks for your help. Mayoff
A 5.6 Client should work with Retrospect 4.3 or later. What version are you running?
morganr
The version number is 4.1 on the server.
morganr
Anyone else have a response? I was hoping that this was a simple usabilty question. I just don't know how to activate new clients is all. Thank you.
AmyJ
Retrospect 4.1 cannot backup 5.6 clients (which are required for Windows XP compatibility). Activator codes were replaced by the License Manager approximately 3-4 years ago. You'll need to upgrade your application version to access newer client software.
