The program can't see my burner and there doesn't seem to be a driver loaded for it either. Under Storage Devices> Status tab I see "No backup devices found". Under Storage Devices> Environment I see ATAPI CD R/W 16x10 G.DJ no idea what it means or how to get it happening.?? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
IrenaS Posted March 26, 2002 Report Share Posted March 26, 2002 Retrospect doesn't recognize the mechanism as a supported one, so it can't back up to it. This usually means that the drive is not qualified by Retrospect, but what you listed doesn't look like any mechnism I've seen. If it's an external device, see if you can find out from the manufacturer what the mechanism is. You could also try using a 3rd party utility to determine the mechanism, such as id.exe. If it's an internal device, see if the documentation that came with your computer lists the mechanism. Once you've found out what the mechanism is, check the Dantz Hardware Guide.
