How to set the order in which clients are backed up?

Recommended Posts

In a backup script, under the Sources tab, there are checkboxes to choose which sources should be backed up by the script. But how do I see and set the order in which those sources are backed up? (In Retrospect 6, I could drag the clients up or down in the list to set the backup order.)

I think (and it's been a while since I tried this), that sources will be backed up *in the order you add them to the script*.

I don't think it's alphabetical by default -- it's just that's they way most people would think about doing this.

But, as you've surmised, there's no way to reorder things in an existing script.

If you use a "proactive" script, you can change the "schedule" of upcoming activities to (mostly) change the order of backups clients -- but that assumes all the clients would be on-line, etc...
