anothersmurf Posted December 30, 2010 Report Share Posted December 30, 2010 I'm running the current Retrospect server on a Mac Mini 2 GHz Core2 Duo, 4GB RAM, 10.6.5 fully up to date. My tape drive is a VXA-320 Firewire drive (FW800), with the current firmware installed. I created a new media set and it's unlocked. I go to the Members tab to add a new member, put a blank X23 tape into the drive. Click the + button, select the tape, click add, say it's ok to erase the already erased tape. Retrospect erases the tape. In the Activities pane, Retrospect says the tape was erased successfully. But the tape is not added to the media set (it still shows 0 members), and when I click on Storage Devices, the tape drive no longer shows up. Apple System Profiler still shows the tape drive, and if I scan for it, Retrospect finds it again. I try quitting and restarting Retrospect, restarting the computer... same problem every time.
