Xenomorph
I've been trying to search for some hard information and have been unable to find anything. We use Retrospect 7.6 right now. Maximum Sessions allowed in a backup set? We have backups with hundreds of sessions. Maximum total files in a backup set? We have some backups with 4,000,000 files. I've read 4 Million is the limit before on some review of 7.5. No idea of anything newer, or if that was true for 7.5 Any other limits? What about limitation changes with 7.7? Or 8.x? Again, I've tried to find these limitations through web and forum searches without luck.
Mayoff
4 Million files per source volume is the limit, not per backup set. 9999 sessions are supported.
Xenomorph
Thank you for the quick reply! Just to make sure, are those limits for the newer versions of Retrospect? I just wanted to be sure that was the case for *older* versions since we run 7.6. Thanks again.
Mayoff
They are true for 7.
johnnymacgo
--> In response to Xenomorph 4 Million files per source volume is the limit, not per backup set. 9999 sessions are supported. Robin Mayoff <-- So is there no limit to the amount of files per backup set then? Thanks, Johnny Mac
Mayoff
My set has over 14 million files. Keep in mind that the bigger the set, the slow it will be and the greater the memory needs. Keep your sets reasonable in size for the best experience.
Richy_Boy
What are they for 7.7? The same? Rich
Mayoff
Basically the same, but the 64 bit version of Retrospect will handle memory better and probably perform better in High memory situations.
