macjoy
Can someone give me the location where Retrospect/RetroEngine stores it's preferences? I have had two hard (kernel panic) crashes which basically wiped out everything. I lost all the scripts, rules, clients, schedules, media sets, etc. I was able to rebuild from the media so that at least the backup data was available. However, being required to re-enter scripts and rules and all the other script-specific information each time something like this occurs is not only time-consuming but keeps me from spending time on other pressing support issues. I am using Time Machine to backup the Retrospect Server. If I knew which files need to be recovered, then I'd be all set if another one of these kernel panics occurs. rhwalker
/Library/Application Support/Retrospect/config80.dat /Library/Application Support/Retrospect/config80.bak It's a good idea to save copies of these away periodically, because, in its current semi-stable state, Retrospect 8 can corrupt these files. We hope that this will improve. Also, if you have a Retrospect backup of your boot volume, if these files become corrupted or missing, you can do a minimal configure (license information, etc.), then use that minimal configuration to bootstrap yourself up and restore the files from a Retrospect backup. macjoy
I appreciate your reply. I'm wondered if those were the correct files and now I know. /Library/Application Support/Retrospect/config80.dat/Library/Application Support/Retrospect/config80.bak It's a good idea to save copies of these away periodically, because, in its current semi-stable state, Retrospect 8 can corrupt these files.
