arnstein
I only got this problem once. This backup task was a "recycle" backup. The backup completed normally, but retrospect.exe would not exit. After about one hour I gave up and used Retrospect Activity Monitor to restart retrospect.exe. Here is a snip from Retrospect's operations log: 2010-06-02 9:10:10 AM: Execution completed successfully Total duration: 05:22:28 (00:09:28 idle/loading/preparing) TPCVol::GetInfo: UGetVolumeInformation failed, N:\, osErr 55, error -1102 Exit at 2010-06-02 10:23 AM This shows that the backup ended at 9:10 AM. The error code -1102 is strange. It appears to have happened at 10:23 AM. But this is about the time that I restarted retrospect.exe via the Retrospect Activity Monitor. My environment includes these features: Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit, all Windows Updates in place. Retrospect Professional 7.7.325, with hot fix 7.7.3.102. The offending backup job is executed from a Windows scheduled task, which has Administrator privelege. From this task, Retrospect is launched as follows: "D:\Program Files\Retrospect\Retrospect 7.7\Retrospect.exe" Launcher Normally, retrospect.exe will do its backup job and then exit. This allows the Windows scheduled task to exit. My issue is that today, Retrospect did not exit, which caused the Windows Scheduled Task to keep running. I won't bore you with the details, but this is a real problem at my site. Edited June 3, 2010 by Guest
