Need Snow Leopard Installation Help for SIngle Computer

When I ordered this product the single user desktop version wasn't available so I ordered the 3-user version. I only have the one computer that I want to back up. All of the instructions refer to doing different things with servers. This does not help me. How do I install and start to use this program to back up my ONE computer? So far what I've done is put the program into my Applications folder. When I double-click the program it Welcomes me to Retrospect and wants me to click the plus (+) button to add a Retrospect server. What? Doesn't help me. Just have the one computer that I want to back up. Can you help?

See pages 14 and 15 of the Retrospect 8 Getting Started Guide for installation instructions. You need to install the Retrospect engine (the program that does the backup, etc.) and the Retrospect console (the user interface). Because you are only working with a single computer, you would install both the engine and the console on that single computer. Everywhere you see a reference to Retrospect server, think "Retrospect engine".

For your situation, DO NOT install the Retrospect Client. To do so would be a mistake.

Thank you. I THINK I got it installed properly. I also THINK I installed the update. I followed the directions but when I went to open the program after installing the update it asked me if I wanted to update so now I'm wondering.

 

I will check back if it doesn't start backing up at 8:30 this evening when I have it schedule. Thanks much!!!
