pbartoli
I need to reset a Retrospect client's password (forgotten... sigh!). I read on this forum that this operation can be done using the " Client_OSX-6_3_028.dmg" by unistalling and re-installing the client software. I tried but found no way to uninstall the client. How can this be accomplished? Thanks

I tried but found no way to uninstall the client. How can this be accomplished? There is no official uninstaller, and there is no way using the 6_3_028.dmg install disk to do it. There is, however, an "unofficial" uninstaller for the Mac client that was posted by the head of Retrospect support in the Retrospect Windows forum at the beginning of this year. Of course, that's not where one would usually look for a Mac client uninstall program, but that's where it is. Sigh. Here's the link: Unofficial Mac client uninstaller script Russ
pbartoli
Thanks Russ, I think I've found it, by searching the forum. As a matter of fact it worked perfectly, but why don't Retrospect declares it the official unistaller??
rhwalker
why don't Retrospect declares it the official unistaller?? Ah, another great mystery of life. I've accepted not to ask "why" when Retrospect product decisions are involved. Russ
