macjoy
I'm running Retrospect on a 2.66Mhz Quad-Core Intel Xeon (Mac Pro) with 8GB RAM. I just changed the niceness to -15 (hoping to improve performance - I'll try just about anything at this point) and noticed in Activity Monitor that the Retrospect process (not RetroEngine) is reported as PowerPC. Is that correct? If not, do I need to reinstall the software? Could this explain some of the weird behavior I've been experiencing with this version of Retrospect? Someone Please Respond Soon! rhwalker
Could this explain some of the weird behavior I've been experiencing with this version of Retrospect? Well, seeing as how you haven't provided any information as to the "version of Retrospect" you are running, it's hard to see how you can expect a response. If you are running some version of Retrospect 8, it would be helpful to know the version of the Retrospect console (8.x.x) and the version of the Retrospect engine (8.x.x). CallMeDave
Retrospect 8.x (all builds so far) is a Universal Binary; it runs native on Intel or PPC hardware, and can also run under Rosetta on an Intel machine. Check the Get Info box for the application package and see if you've configured it for emulation; that would result in what you're seeing.
