baweeks
-Looking at the knowledge base note with today's update of 8.1's engine, I see one bug addressed being 'respawn crash' and another 'Network timeout defect which caused thread's hang and engine Assert.' -Are these an attempt to fix the grave difficulty many of us have had, with the Engine being fragile and crashing, causing all scripts to be lost, corruption of the config.dat, files, and other woes? -I could see EMC releasing such a fix 'as soon as ready' since this is a major instability/unreliability issue for many, while EMC continues to work on the major bug fix release (hopefully soon). Mayoff
This release was made mostly so that users of VXA drives will have a much better experience right now. We are still working on a release with over 300 bug fixes including speed improvements and support for older backup sets. Feel free to install the RDU even if you don't have VXA. The other changes may make a better experience for you.
