thiggins
I have a customer that is currently using Backup Exec to backup a few Windows servers and 6 Mac Servers. The mac client is pathetic and completely unsupported on anything newer than 10.5.5 (which was released in mid 2008). Is it possible to install and run Retrospect while still using Backup Exec? Since Backup Exec runs well for the Windows server we just need to find a solution for the Mac servers (while still maintaining our investment in the backup hardware disk, tape drive, etc.)
Mayoff
backup exec tape drivers will prevent Retrospect from having tape drive access but you could backup to hard disk with both installed on the same Windows server.
jgowing
In my experience I have been able to run other backup Products on Backup Exec Servers, (Retrospect & Networker) Ensure that you shut down all the backup exec services, possible set them all to manual or disabled to ensure that there is no possibility of BE trying to run while you have retro running. Good Luck
