rbarthel1z1
Hello, I just upgraded to 7.7.235 and am generating the following errors during backups: + Normal backup using Rap_C at 4/10/2010 11:51 AM To Backup Set RAP_C... VssWBuildSnapshotSet: StartSnapshotSet failed, winerr -2147212522, error -3042 Can't use Open File Backup option for Win7_32 (C:), error -3042 ( there is already a Snapshot set in progress) This is running on a Win7 ultimate. The script is a local hard drive backup to another local drive. The backup set and catalog file were both deleted and created new. The config77.dat file was recreated. While the backup runs, it also generates 70+ "can't read, error -1020 ( sharing violation)" errors. I am logging on as the computer administrator. The script is set to run under the current logged on user. My guess is a problem with the VSS shadow service?? Help. Thanks in advance. Win7 event viewer for VSS events: Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Error calling a routine on a Shadow Copy Provider {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}. Routine details CommitSnapshots [hr = 0x8000ffff, Catastrophic failure[/b] ]. By the way, no problems with 7.6. Mayoff
This is a problem with VSS on the computer. Try restarting the computer or maybe stop and start the shadow copy services.
