estherissima
I am running OS10.6.3 on a new Mac Mini. My version of Retrospect is 8.1626 as a trial version. Every time I try to use the internal Optiarc DVD Drive to create a media set, it keeps telling me, "Needs Media" and I get a flashing question mark. Am I doing something wrong? rhwalker
Have you seen this document and followed the steps to enable optical support? Retrospect 8.x for Macintosh Optical Support Russ
estherissima
I hadn't seen that. Thanks, Russ!
estherissima
OK, so I followed the instructions for enabling the Optiarc optical drive on my Mac mini. It doesn't recognize DVDs or CDs in my built in DVD drive. Then I downloaded the new 8.1 driver update, and now I see my computer's resources listed twice. But I still can't use the internal DVD drive. Help?
rhwalker
OK, so I followed the instructions for enabling the Optiarc optical drive on my Mac mini. It doesn't recognize DVDs or CDs in my built in DVD drive. That's not quite clear. (1) what type of media are you using? (2) does the optical drive appear visible to Retrospect? (3) do you have any other CD / DVD burning software active? Then I downloaded the new 8.1 driver update, and now I see my computer's resources listed twice. But I still can't use the internal DVD drive.Help? Could you post a screen shot showing what you see? It's not quite clear to me.
