gadmin
Hello, My Retrospect 8 server crashed randomly this morning. I check the system log and the last entry read: Retrospect-8-Server.apple.launchd[1] (com.retrospect.RetroEngine[70]): Exited abnormally: Broken pipe From the Retrospect logs, it seemed to have crash just after it finish backing up a user's laptop. Tried restarting the engine but nothing started. Reboot the computer and seems to be working fine now. Really strange.... I am running version 8.1(build 626) on an Intel Quad-core Xeon using Mac OSX 10.6.2. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Maser
If it were me, I'd see if you get the same crash when you backup that same user's laptop (and *only* that user's laptop?). If so, that might help debug the problem. If it was a random and non-reproducible crash? Well, hopefully, the next bug-fix release due out in the next month+ will address that... gadmin
Yeah, that was strange. I'll see if that same incident reproduces that crash. Thanks!
Maser
Also can't hurt to run Disk Utility and "verify disk" on the source, too...
