Using Retrospect in conjunction with an imaging software product

I use Acronis imaging software to do an image backup of my computer. It was recommended that I use an imaging product in addition to Retrospect Professional to perform a more secure backup.

Making the initial image backup is simple, and I have done that. However, Retrospect gives me many more options as to what to backup.

Will you please guide me as to what choices I can make in the following scenario:

I want to backup my documents folder as this is where I keep all of my information. Should I choose to backup My Documents, Documents, Documents and Settings, All Files Except Cache Files, etc.

Also, when I am prompted for a location of my Catalog File, where should I choose. I believe that normally, it puts it in the My Documents folder on the main OS drive. It seems to me that it would be better to put it on an external drive in the event of disaster.

I asked this question of Retrospect customer support at one time, but it was a while ago and I forgot their suggestion. I have tried to get back to them via telephone, but have been put on hold for way too long for me to hang on.

Thank you for your help.
