gluhring
In my script I have compression on in options. While the script is running, In Activity details it says compression is off. Am I missing something? I'm backing up to a plain old Western Digital Hard Drive using Retrospect 8.1. -- Luhring
Mayoff
I believe that is a cosmetic bug. What does the log show after the backup is done?
gluhring
This is my first run so I'll check it when it's finished. Thanks :thanks: -- Luhring Edited March 12, 2010 by Guest
Maser
Yeah, this is a cosmetic bug. Been there since the beginning of the betas, IIRC.
forestliu
I'm having the same issue. That it's showing compression off although I have checked Hardware compression when readying the media set. This is LTO-3 HH and after about 370GB it asks to switch out the tape. It still shows capacity at 700+GB but never let's me write that much. Any suggestions?
Maser
I think it's still a cosmetic bug that the running activity says "OFF". Check the log -- that will tell you if it's being compressed or not. Tape "capacity" is not something you should go by -- compression is completely dependent on the types of files being compressed (big airy databases -- lots of compression, binary files -- almost no compression)
