TERRYRICKETTS
We are running Retrospect 7.7 Multi Server on a Windows 2008 R2 64 bit machine. I have been trying to get User Initiated Restore installed and have hit a brick wall. IIS 7.5.7600 has been installed, along with .net 1.1. I created a virtual directory named 'myrestore', pointing it to a folder within WWWRoot, and enabled browsing. I can open a web browser from anywhere on our lan and can go to the 'myrestore' folder and browse its contents (I added some files just to be sure I was getting to the right place). When I click on the 'Install UIR' button in Retrospect's preferences window I get the error message that the specified path to 'myrestore' is not available and that I need to check IIS. Yet I can clearly see the folder using a browser. I even restarted Retrospect hoping that would clear it up. Is there something else I need to do to get Retrospect to see the correct path? TERRYRICKETTS
We found the problem. IIS needed the compatibility pack for IIS 6 installed for Retrospect to talk to it properly. User initiated restore is now working.
