allisong
I have recently upgraded Retrospect Multi-Server with addon value pack from 7.6.123 to 7.7.203 then 7.7.208 and now when I back up mailboxes on my exchange server I alwasy get this error: Assertion Failure at "tstring.cpp-374" I run Windows SBS2003 R2 with exchange 2003 fully patched to latest releases. This happens with all 7.7 releases and did not happen on 7.6 and I have now had to downgrade, pretty pissed off!!!
allisong
I have now downgraded again and all works perfectly. One thing I did notice is that any backups made to files with 7.7 would not work with 7.6. Perhaps this is the other way around, do file base backup sets made with 7.6 work fine with 7.7?? Geoff. rhwalker
Did you bother to read the Retrospect 7.7 Read Me ? Upgrading from a Previous Version of Retrospect Older Backup Sets: If you are an upgrade customer, you can use your older Backup Sets with Retrospect 7.7. However, [color:red]once you use a Backup Set with Retrospect 7.7, you can no longer access it from earlier versions of Retrospect.[/color] Russ
allisong
YES I DID BOTHER TO READ IT!, the point of my post about backup sets was that I wondered whether sets made with 7.6 then used with 7.7 exhibited this problem only. I do not use incremental backups, only "recycle" for these backup sets and they all fail. I have since gone back to 7.6 as I cannot stand these errors.
