heimi
This article: http://kb.dantz.com/display/2n/articleDirect/index.asp?aid=9723&r=0.2308161 references that "An update to EMC Retrospect 7 for Windows will soon be available to support Snow Leopard." Please can someone let me know if this update has already been released. We are on 7.6.123 but thinking about upgrading to 7.7.208 which I just downloaded today. jwright
Full support? I hope so as I have a few clients that are being backed up. I have yet to try a full restore, but I have restored files. 7.7 is still buggy though. You might want to install it on a test box before you roll it out. Check out this article in the knowledge base: TITLE: Retrospect 7.7 Release Notes There are two fixes for 10.6 listed at the bottom. rhwalker
Toby, Your link is broken. The correct link to the Snow Leopard Compatibility Statement is: Snow Leopard Compatibility Statement Crafting links into the Knowledge Base is an art - you have to use the "Bookmark" link in the right-hand frame of the Knowledge Base to create a link that can be copied. What a pain. As for restores, there are still a bit of things that are broken, and for some of which, I believe, EMC requires assistance from Apple. One is the need to remove the extraneous /dev nodes that Retrospect creates on restore. The other is the fact that system files are not restored compressed. See the Compatibility Statement for details. Jeff is correct about the Retrospect 7 release notes. Note that the Compability Statement is dated October 12, 2009, and compare with the release update dates for Retrospect 7. If you want to test your restores for integrity, here's how to do so: Backup Bouncer Russ
