Greetings,

We have about 200-300 proactive scripts. The problem is that Retrospect is spending to much time checking for computers and never gets to some of the scripts. It might do 25-100 but then starts over again. Are there any parameters that can be set to change how Retrospect queries the proactive scripts?

Why would you have 300 scripts? That seems crazy to me. You can put all your clients into one script or maybe a couple but 300???

Thanks for your reply. How would you suggest we do it? Right now we have a backup set for each computer and so each script has one computer as the source and one unique backup set for that computer. How would you suggest we do it with multiple computers per script. Would we have multiple computers backup to the same backup set?

Most users put multiple sources into a single backup set. No reason for them to be in different backup sets.

You can use the backup set transfer feature.

Be careful that your backup set does not exceed 4,000,000 files and/or 500 sessions. I've been told by tech support that some of my issues were probably caused by not having enough backup sets.

I have backup sets with 1000's of sessions and up wards of 14 million files.

 

The 4 million file limit is per source volume.

I have a followup question. Why, in my list of proactive backups does it not move to the next backup when the computer that is to be backed up is out of the office. The "Action" keeps saying Polling and then Checking Source, but it does not move on to the next item in the list.
