bobthev
I have 2 macs strung together by LAN and my back ups are on an NAS. I am running the most recent retrospect builds and client app. OS is 10.5.8. Printers also on the LAN plus all internet services are running well. The problem is not the LAN. I set up the other mac as the client, all went well. Backups backed up. Then one day I noticed that the client was not being successfully backed up. Looking into this I found that the client was "Source Unavailable." I have been unable to make it "available" since then. I ran the client app and found that it was set to off. Ah HA! I said, but switching it back on made no difference. (BTW- why do clients switch off? I saw this with Retro 6.1 too - very very annoying). My LAN speaks DHCP. Is that the problem? If not, what is the problem? Bob Vandiver
bobthev
Nobody has any thoughts about this?
rbn
I have the same problem. Try restarting the engine, this does the trick for me every time. Restarting the computer does not, if you restart, even though you restart the engine, you need to restart the engine manually via system preferences! Hope this solves you problem for now, I hope this will get fixed.
