Fulco
I am (trying) testing retrospect 7.7. Running ru771102 doesn't seems to install an update. The HP Ultrium2 and 3 are still 'Not Responding'. Please help. Fulco
bcssomadude
You may want to try un-installing 7.6 and "cleanly" installing 7.7. While you should backup (copy) the config75 as well as everything else in the Docs&Settings\All Users\App Data\Retrospect, those files should not get over-written upon installation of 7.7. A clean install of 7.7 will just incorporate them after the install. That's how it worked for me. I did not try installing 7.7 "on top" of 7.6. Wish I could help you further. Did you confirm the version of Retrospect is the latest at 7.7.203 ; Hotfix v. 7.7.1.102?
Fulco
We need Retrospect 7.6 up and running. Before upgrading I want to test 7.7. So uninstalling 7.6 is no option. Fulco

Then you need to set up an isolated testbed using a trial license to test 7.7, separate and apart from your 7.6 backups. Note well the following comment in the EMC Retrospect 7.7 for Windows Read Me: Older Backup Sets: If you are an upgrade customer, you can use your older Backup Sets with Retrospect 7.7. However, [color:red]once you use a Backup Set with Retrospect 7.7, you can no longer access it from earlier versions of Retrospect.[/color] Don't be surprised. Test on an isolated testbed. Russ Of course new backupset will be used for testing. Especially we want to test the ‘Disaster Recovery’ for SBS 2008 (64bit). We don’t have a spare server with tape unit laying around. Why are the HP Ultrium LTO2/LTO3 units ‘Not Responding’? If you need more Beta-testers: I am your man! Fulco
rhwalker
Why are the HP Ultrium LTO2/LTO3 units ‘Not Responding’? Because there is a bug. Looks like you aren't the only one with this problem: Retrospect 7.7 cannot use LTO drive Russ
