Jenny M
How to change default location of catalogs from C: to E:? Disk space issue. Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. Retrospect: 7.6.123. Assuming this is possible, can I then copy existing catalogs to the new location without causing problems when doing restores later? Mayoff
Move the catalog file to the new location and then double click on the file.
rhwalker
And you need to do that (open each file) for each and every catalog you move so that Retrospect knows where it is now located. Russ
Jenny M
Could you please explain how to open a catalog? If I double click on one, it opens in the PROPERTIES window with 6 tabs. Do I need to execute some sort of save or is opening and closing enough? Thanks. jm
rhwalker
See page 273 of the User's Guide: Next, you must force Retrospect ... to recognize the Catalog Files ... The easiest way to do this is to select all of the catalogs in the Windows Explorer, and drag them onto the Retrospect application icon. Retrospect opens a Backup Set configuration window for each Catalog, causing it to recognize the catalogs. Hope this helps.
Jenny M
Thank you so much. That worked perfectly. While I did check out the manual, don't think I would have every figured out that instructions about moving the program had useful info regarding relocating catalogs. Had it in my head that it would be some sort of DOS like command. Thanks again. jm
