ArtL
I ran Retrospect Backup(5.0.205) today for the first time: First to a VXA-1 tape drive and then to a second hard disk. I am using OS10.2 on a new dual processor 1GZ G4. In both cases the cursor disappeared after completion of the backup run. It reappeared after a restart. It seems likely that the problem is in retrospect or some sort of conflict. Any Clues?
CallMeDave
In reply to: I am using OS10.2 the cursor disappeared after completion of the backup run. It reappeared after a restart. It seems that the cursor can disappear if your monitor goes to sleep during a Retrospect Execution. Once it's gone, it's really gone. But a restart is not required; simply logging out and back in restores the cursor. Setting your Screen Effects to kick in before the monitor sleeps will prevent the cursor from disappearing. Perhaps that's why Apple put that odd warning in the Energy Saver preference pane ("the display will sleep before your Screen Effects activate...")? ArtL
thanks Dave. I never ever would have figured that out. someone somewhere has a bug. perhaps retrospect should put the info in a visible place cheers...
