Error -1019, not enough resources

Running Retrospect 7.6.123, Driver Update and hot fix 7.6.2.101, client version 7.6.107. Server has 3GB of RAM, Windows Server 2003.

 

A few of our clients' backups end with the error: "Can't back up registry, error -1019 (not enough resources)"

 

I found a knowledge base article named:

"TITLE: -1019 Out of Resource Errors with Multiple Executions on a Local Windows Server"

That is not quite what I see here, since there usually is only one execution running.

 

Anyway that article links to a Microsoft article:

The M$ article tells me to change the registry.

 

Now for the question: Do I change the registry on the server or on the affected clients?

If this issue actually applies to the situation, I would assume you make the exchange on the client computer since the client is actually reporting the error to Retrospect.

On the "Guinea pig" client, adding "registry setting 1" didn't help.

I'll try adding the second one and report back.

Adding the second registry setting seems to do the trick.

 

(Or rather: Setting the value to 0xffffffff as it already existed as 0x00000000.)
