Retrospect is not seeing your backup device. Unfortunately, without any information, it is next to impossible to troubleshoot your issue.

 

 

 

What Operating System? What device - While in Retrospect, go to Configure > Devices > Device Status and list Vendor, Product and Version. If the drive isn't seen here, check the Apple System Profiler > Devices and Volumes for drive information. Was this working previously? If so, what has changed in your configuration/system? When do you get the error? Are you making the correct backup set type? Check Configure > Backup Sets > Configure for the backup set type.

 

 

 

If this is a removable disk drive, make sure you have a disk inserted at the time of the backup. If this is a CD burner, make sure no other CD burning programs are running when Retrospect tries to access the drive.
