BSpielman
I recently moved a Yamaha CRW2200E CD burner from an external FireWire case to an internal IDE bus in my old PowerTower Pro 225 Mac clone running OS9.1. I had been successfully backing up with this drive in the external case using Retrospect 4.3. Now, when I insert the backup CD for recording, I get an “unknown status” message accompanied by a padlock. When I scan devices, Retrospect recognizes the drive. Also, the Apple System Profiler and Roxio Toast 5.1.4 can see the drive and recognize an inserted readable disk (e.g., a System Software disk; not, of course, the Retrospect backup disk, which is not readable). The Finder mounts an inserted readable disk without difficulty. What’s wrong?
AmyJ
The Yamaha CRW2200E IDE drive is not supported for use with Retrospect for the Macintosh. The Firewire version is supported only in it's native configuration.
