emulator Posted April 23, 2009 Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 I would like to see Retrospect present a "Media Required" information dialog when restoring from tape. For example, when restoring from a tape backup, we must load all the tapes from that backup set, when in fact the restore might only need one tape from that set. If Retrospect would tell us that we need only members 1, 5, and 8 of a particular backup set, that would be most helpful. I will say that when restoring databases, Retrospect does indeed tell what members of a backup set will be needed for a restore. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
blm14 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Share Posted April 28, 2009 YES! similarly when rebuilding a catalog file from tapes, it would be AWESOME to be able to specify the number of tapes in the set rather than wait until retrospect finishes a tape and waits for a response to "is there another tape in this set?" which almost always happens when I am asleep, meaning that I end up missing 10 hours of idle time on the repair job...` Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
