Lewisclark Posted August 14, 2002 Report Share Posted August 14, 2002 we at lewis and clark college are have trouble restoring a hard drive running windows 2000. we install a clean copy of win 2000 then follow the disaster recovery directions for retrospect 5.15 and install another copy of win 2000 into a temp folder and restore the drive from retrospect. the problem is when we are done the computer with win 2000 halts on boot up and displays a error message " windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt winnt\system32\config\sistemced. we tryed the repair procedure with the win 200 CD but its unable to repair.. any idea's from the field? thank you alan younis lewis and clark college portland oregon younis@lclark.edu 503-768-7519 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
