backup users to Netgear NAS

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am new to both Retrospect and Mac OSX so please bear with me.

I am using OSX server 10.5.4 and Retrospect Server 6.1. I purchased a ReadyNAS 1100 X-RAID storage device with the view to backing up user data from my server.

I have set up an AFP share on the NAS and can access it by selecting 'connect to server' and typing in afp://192.168.8.5/backup

My problem is, how do I select this share as the 'destination' in Retrospect as it does not appear in the list? I only see Panasonic CD-RW and Sony Tape drive.

Thanks in advance

The "Destination" for a Backup in Retrospect is a Backup Set.

There are various Types of Backup Sets, including Tape, Internet, CD/DVD, etc.

The only Type of Backup Set that can be stored and used on a shared hard drive is a File Backup Set.
