alanz
My computers are attached to my gigabit Ethernet network. I just installed trial of Retrospect 7.6 and am attempting to use a Windows Vista 64 bit system to backup files from one Network Addressed Storage device (a 2TB Buffalo Terastation, Raid 5) to another NAS (a 2TB Buffalo LinkStation Pro Duo, Raid 0). I want to automate back up from the TeraStation to the LinkStation. I tried EMC Retrospect 7.6 for 64bit, but it never executes the backup set... it just sits there stating "Immediate Backup: Preparing for Open File Backup". Any thoughts? Mayoff
Retrospect may be attempting to get an open file snapshot from the NAS boxes, which do not support open file backup. Change the script options to disable Open File Backup. What happens? Do you see any errors in the Windows Event Log for VSS or Shadow copy? alanz
That seems to have done the trick... I'm running a small test now. Thanks!
